The Richard I. Bong WWII Heritage Center is named after famed World War II ace, Dick Bong, a P-38 Lightning Pilot that downed over 40 enemy planes during his tours of duty. Today, the Heritage Center uses exhibits and collected artifacts to both honor and remember those who fought, and those who perished in the second World War. The center is located near the waterfront, just north of Central Park.
