The Fairlawn Mansion was originally built in 1890 as the home of Lake Superior's second mayor, Martin Pattison. Today, the 42-room mansion is a pristine example of the rich indulgence that came with the brief economic boom the area experienced in the late 19th century. The mansion is located on the shore of Lake Superior, just east of Central Park.
